Job summary

BAMSI, Inc. in Berlin, MA is seeking a part-time Residential Counselor for MAP to provide rehabilitative support in group living environments and help residents build daily living skills.

You’ll teach ADLs, support treatment plans under clinician guidance, and assist with medications, transportation, and documentation while promoting independence and community integration.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or GED required.
• Mental health experience preferred.
• Valid driver’s license and ability to assist with mobility.
• Strong English communication and basic computer proficiency.

Responsibilities

• Teach ADLs and socialization skills.
• Implement Treatment Plans and behavioral interventions under clinician guidance.
• Administer/supervise medications per MAP guidelines and document care.
• Transport residents to appointments and community activities.
• Advocate for residents’ needs and model healthy coping strategies.
• Maintain a safe, clean home environment and complete timely documentation.

What You Bring:

• High school diploma/GED; mental health experience preferred.
• Valid driver’s license and ability to assist with mobility (bending, standing, etc.).
• Strong communication skills (English) and basic computer proficiency.
• Compassion, patience, and a commitment to trauma-informed care.
• Bonus : Lived experience or multilingual abilities (e.g., Spanish, Portuguese).
