Job summary

Voices for Voices in Norristown seeks motivated BHT/RBT to support students with emotional and behavioral disabilities in school settings (ages 3–21).

You will assist teachers, work one-on-one with students, monitor moods/behaviors, and document progress, helping students develop independence and socially appropriate behavior.

Hours are Monday–Friday, 8am–3pm, with opportunities across intermediate units, public, private, and charter schools.

Qualifications

• Experience with children with behavioral challenges, IDD, or autism.
• High School Diploma or equivalent.
• Ability to obtain FBI, Child Abuse (ACT 126), and Criminal clearances.
• Valid health documents: physical, TB test, CPR and First Aid Level 2.

Responsibilities

• Support teachers by assisting students per IEP, ages 3–21.
• Work one-on-one with students to ensure a safe, nurturing, and academically stimulating environment.
• Provide goal-oriented support fostering independence and socially appropriate behaviors.
• Monitor mood/behavior changes and write daily progress notes.

Our Client is seeking motivated professionals to work as BHT/RBT in the Norristown area. The Aides will provide support to children with emotional and behavioral disabilities in various settings including intermediate units, public, private, and charter schools.

CLIENT'S AVAILABLE HOURS

• Monday- Friday: 8am - 3pm.

SUMMARY OF CLIENT'S DESCRIPTION OF THIS OPPORTUNITY

• Provide support and assistance to teachers by helping students with challenges outlined in their IEP assessment: ages 3-21 years old
• Work one on one with students to ensure a safe, nurturing, and academically stimulating environment
• Provide students with goal-oriented support that fosters independence and the ability to display socially acceptable behaviors in the school environment.
• Monitor students' change in moods and/or behaviors
• Write case notes indicating students' daily progress
• Ensure that diversity and commonality are valued.

CLIENT'S REQUIRED SKILLS & EXPERIENCE

Please note that we have a credentialing specialist that can assist you with any of the below-mentioned credentials, if needed!

• Experience working with children with behavioral challenges, intellectual and developmental disabilities, and/or autism
• Minimum of a High School Diploma or its equivalency
• Ability to complete and pass clearances: FBI, Child Abuse (ACT 126), and Criminal
• Must be able to produce current medical/health documents including: physical examination, Tuberculosis/TB Skin Test, CPR, and First Aid Level 2 certification
