Summary/ObjectiveThe Hotel Front Desk Associate is often the first point of contact for guests at Ute Mountain Casino Hotel. The position is responsible for creating a welcoming and helpful experience from check-in to check-out. This position is critical to delivering professional and courteous guest service, managing reservations, processing payments, and providing information about the hotel, casino, and surrounding attractions.Success in this role means consistently delivering smooth, accurate service with a positive attitude, responding quickly to guest needs, and working collaboratively with other departments to enhance the overall guest experience.Physical & Mental Requirements / Work EnvironmentHotel front desk and accompanying roles require standing and walking for extended periods—often up to 8 hours or more—while interacting with guests, operating computers, phones, and reservation systems. Employees may occasionally need to lift or move objects weighing up to 25 pounds, such as luggage, supplies, or promotional materials. The front desk environment is dynamic and fast-paced, especially during check-in/check-out hours, requiring consistent mobility, focus, and organization.Mentally, front desk team members must maintain a high level of professionalism, attention to detail, and emotional resilience. As one of the first points of contact for guests, they must always be “on”—presenting a warm, helpful, and responsive demeanor. The ability to remain calm and courteous under pressure, solve problems quickly, and uphold hospitality standards is essential to creating positive first impressions and ensuring a seamless guest experience.The ideal candidate should be able to fulfill all physical and mental aspects of the job, with or without reasonable accommodation.QualificationsGeneralMust be at least 18 years of age and able to obtain and maintain a Ute Mountain Ute Gaming Commission Non-Support License (background checks may be required).Ability to work flexible hours including nights, weekends, and holidaysMust maintain a professional appearance, tone, and guest-service mindset at all timesEducationHigh school diploma or GED preferredExperiencePrevious customer service experience required; hotel or hospitality experience is a plusPrior experience with reservation systems, POS systems, or cash handling is helpfulKnowledge, Skills, and Abilities (KSAs)Excellent Strong communication and problem-solving skillsBasic computer proficiency, including typing and data entryAbility to multitask while staying organized in a busy, guest-facing environmentTeam-oriented with a willingness to learn and adapt
