Job summary

BAMSI is hiring a Residential Counselor - MAP in Taunton, MA. The role provides rehabilitative support to adults in Group Living Environments, helping them develop daily living skills and community integration. Training includes MAP certification and trauma-informed care.

Responsibilities include teaching ADLs, following treatment plans, medication administration, transporting residents, and documenting care. A high school diploma and a valid driver’s license are required.

Qualifications

• MAP (Mental Administration Program) certification is required.
• High school diploma/GED required.
• Valid driver’s license and ability to assist with mobility.
• Strong communication skills in English.
• Compassion, patience, and trauma-informed care.
• Bonus: lived experience or multilingual abilities (e.g., Spanish, Portuguese).

• Teach ADLs (cooking, budgeting, medication management) and socialization skills.
• Implement Treatment Plans and behavioral interventions under clinician guidance.
• Administer/supervise medications per MAP guidelines and document care.
• Transport residents to appointments and community activities.
• Advocate for residents’ needs and model healthy coping strategies.
• Maintain a safe, clean home environment and complete timely documentation.
