Job summary

Georgia-Pacific is seeking a Shift Capability Leader to support our Palatka, FL tissue manufacturing area. You will supervise 15–30 hourly team members, lead capability development, and partner with the Department Operations Team to drive long-term value.

You will report to the Performance Leader in the Retail department. Ideal candidates have 3+ years in manufacturing leadership, strong MS Office skills, and a proven ability to develop direct reports while collaborating across functions.

Qualifications

• 3+ years in a leadership role within manufacturing or military environments.
• Proficiency with Microsoft Office Suite (Excel, Outlook, Word, PowerPoint).
• Experience managing and developing direct reports with accountability for team performance.
• Proven ability to collaborate effectively across cross-functional teams.

Responsibilities

• Lead, mentor, supervise, coach, and develop hourly associates to improve capability and performance.
• Foster an Ownership Based Work System to identify learning and development needs and optimize equipment.
• Develop and implement capability and qualifications for performance.
• Address performance gaps for technicians and measure performance across the work platform.
• Handle payroll, timekeeping, attendance, evaluations, and other HR admin tasks.
• Align roles and expectations with mill and organizational goals to maximize long-term value.
• Regularly execute Leader Standard Work to ensure team expectations are met.
• Hold teams accountable for operating strategies and results.
• Create processes promoting knowledge transfer to all team members.
• Collaborate with engineers and other leaders to address performance gaps.
