Job summary

Georgia-Pacific is seeking a Shift Capability Leader to support our Palatka, FL tissue manufacturing area. The role supervises 15–30 hourly teammates, reports to the Performance Leader, and partners with Operations to maximize long-term value.

The position operates on a 12-hour rotating schedule across multiple departments. You will lead development of performance and qualification capability, address master tech gaps, and manage HR admin tasks while aligning roles with mill goals.

Qualifications

• 3+ years in a leadership role within manufacturing or military environments.
• Proficiency with Microsoft Office Suite, including Excel/PowerPoint for charts and reports.
• Experience managing and developing direct reports.
• Ability to collaborate effectively across cross-functional teams.

Responsibilities

• Lead, mentor, supervise, coach, and develop hourly associates to improve capability.
• Foster an Ownership Based Work system and identify learning solutions.
• Develop and implement capability related to performance, skills, and qualifications.
• Address performance gaps and measure performance across the work platform.
• Handle payroll, timekeeping, attendance, evaluations and other HR admin tasks.
• Ensure roles and expectations align with mill and organizational goals.
• Regularly execute Leader Standard Work to inspect team outputs.
• Hold teams accountable for strategies and results.
• Promote knowledge transfer across team members.
• Collaborate with engineers and salaried leaders to address gaps.
