Job summary

Nexgen Surveying, LLC. is looking for an experienced Party Chief for an independent contractor (1099) position in Florida. Ideal candidates should have over 3 years of field surveying experience and proficiency with GPS and Total Stations. This role offers flexible scheduling and project-based work. Qualifications

• 3+ years of field surveying experience, including independent or crew leadership roles.
• Solid understanding of survey principles, legal descriptions, and construction staking.
• A valid Florida driver’s license with a clean record.
• A valid Florida driver’s license with a clean record (fewer than 3 moving violations in 3 years; no DUI or reckless driving in 5 years)
• Your own reliable transportation to and from job sites
• High school diploma or GED; technical surveying training a plus
• The ability to work independently outdoors in Florida’s conditions — self-motivated and dependable
• Strong communication skills and a professional, accountable approach to every engagement

Party Chief – Independent Contractor (1099)

The Opportunity

This is a 1099 independent contractor role for experienced Party Chiefs who prefer the flexibility of contract work without sacrificing steady, meaningful projects. You’ll work on a project-by-project basis alongside NexGen’s licensed surveyors and project managers — operating with the autonomy of an independent professional and the support of an established firm behind you. We primarily utilize highly skilled one-man crews, but also accept two-man crews for the right projects.

What You'll Do

Important Note: Independent Contractor Status

This position is classified as an independent contractor (1099). As a contractor, you are responsible for your own taxes, insurance, and equipment unless otherwise agreed upon in your contractor agreement.
