Job summary

TEKsystems in Kansas City, MO seeks experienced electrical and data installation teams for a large access control deployment. The contract role involves traveling to sites, installing power infrastructure, low-voltage cabling, and network connectivity, with installation and commissioning duties shared by electricians and data technicians.

Teams will install Axis components, CAT5e/6 cabling, and access control hardware while adhering to safety standards and project documentation.

Qualifications

• Commercial electrical installation experience.

Responsibilities

• Install and terminate high-voltage power circuits to designated power supply locations.

• Install junction boxes and pull boxes as required by site conditions.
• Ensure compliance with NEC, local electrical codes, and customer standards.
• Coordinate with the Data Technician during equipment installation and testing.

Team Composition

Each Installation Team Will Consist Of

• 1 Licensed/Experienced Electrician
• 1 Low Voltage/Data Technician

Teams will work together to install and commission access control infrastructure at designated customer locations. The project involves both electrical and low-voltage cabling work to support a new network-based access control system.

Project Overview

Seeking experienced access control installation teams to support a large-scale deployment of network-connected door access systems. Technicians will be responsible for installing power infrastructure, low-voltage cabling, network connectivity, enclosure mounting, conduit pathways, and associated field devices.

Electrician Responsibilities

• Installing and terminating high-voltage power circuits to designated power supply locations.
• Mounting and wiring Altronix power supplies and backup power components.
• Installing EMT conduit systems, including bends, connectors, couplings, supports, and straps.
• Installing junction boxes and pull boxes as required by site conditions.
• Ensuring compliance with NEC, local electrical codes, and customer standards.
• Verifying proper grounding and power distribution for access control equipment.
• Coordinating closely with the Data Technician during equipment installation and testing.
• Performing troubleshooting and corrective actions related to electrical infrastructure.

Data Technician Responsibilities

• Installation and termination of CAT5e network cable.
• RJ45 connector termination and cable certification/testing.
• Mounting and connecting Axis A1210-B Network Door Controllers.
• Installing and terminating Illuminated NFC Tap Point Assemblies.
• Labeling, dressing, and organizing structured cabling.
• Testing network connectivity and device communications.
• Assisting with controller commissioning and system verification.
• Maintaining installation quality standards and documentation.

General Requirements

Available Sunday through Thursday throughout project duration.

Must have reliable transportation.

Must be able to lift up to 50 lbs and work on ladders and lifts as required.

Pay And Benefits

The pay range for this position is $20.00 - $33.00/hr.
