Job summary

TEKsystems is seeking experienced access control installers for a Temple, TX project. The role involves installing power infrastructure, low-voltage cabling, network connectivity, and door controllers across multiple customer sites.

Team members will work 12-hour day shifts Sunday through Thursday, with 100% travel for the duration. Reliable transport, safety compliance, and strong teamwork are essential.

Qualifications

  • Commercial electrical installation experience.
  • Experience with EMT conduit installation and routing.
  • Knowledge of electrical code requirements and safety procedures.
  • Ability to read prints and installation documentation.
  • Experience with access control or security systems preferred.
  • Proficiency with structured cabling and network devices is desirable.

Responsibilities

  • Install and terminate high-voltage power circuits to designated power supply locations.
  • Mount and wire Altronix power supplies and backup power components.
  • Install EMT conduit systems and related components.
  • Install junction boxes and pull boxes as required by site conditions.
  • Ensure NEC/local code compliance and proper grounding.
  • Coordinate with the Data Technician during installation and testing.
  • Troubleshoot and resolve electrical infrastructure issues.
  • Install and terminate CAT5e network cable and certify connections.
  • Mount Axis A1210-B Network Door Controllers and NFC Tap Point assemblies.
  • Label, dress, and organize structured cabling; test network connectivity.
  • Assist with controller commissioning and system verification.
  • Maintain installation quality standards and documentation.

Description

Project Duration: September - December

Schedule: Sunday - Thursday, 7:00 AM - 7:00 PM (Day Shift)

Travel: Technicians will be expected to travel 100% for the duration of the project

Team Composition

Each installation team will consist of:

  • 1 Licensed/Experienced Electrician
  • 1 Low Voltage/Data Technician

Teams will work together to install and commission access control infrastructure at designated customer locations. The project involves both electrical and low-voltage cabling work to support a new network-based access control system.

Project Overview

TEKsystems is seeking experienced access control installation teams to support a large-scale deployment of network-connected door access systems. Technicians will be responsible for installing power infrastructure, low-voltage cabling, network connectivity, enclosure mounting, conduit pathways, and associated field devices.

Work will be performed during scheduled daytime construction/installation windows and will require adherence to site safety requirements, quality standards, and project timelines.

Electrician Responsibilities
  • Installing and terminating high-voltage power circuits to designated power supply locations.
  • Mounting and wiring Altronix power supplies and backup power components.
  • Installing EMT conduit systems, including bends, connectors, couplings, supports, and straps.
  • Installing junction boxes and pull boxes as required by site conditions.
  • Ensuring compliance with NEC, local electrical codes, and customer standards.
  • Verifying proper grounding and power distribution for access control equipment.
  • Coordinating closely with the Data Technician during equipment installation and testing.
  • Performing troubleshooting and corrective actions related to electrical infrastructure.
Data Technician Responsibilities
  • Installation and termination of CAT5e network cable.
  • RJ45 connector termination and cable certification/testing.
  • Mounting and connecting Axis A1210-B Network Door Controllers.
  • Installing and terminating Illuminated NFC Tap Point Assemblies.
  • Labeling, dressing, and organizing structured cabling.
  • Testing network connectivity and device communications.
  • Assisting with controller commissioning and system verification.
  • Maintaining installation quality standards and documentation.

  • Must possess basic hand tools appropriate for their trade.
  • Ability to pass any site-specific screening or safety requirements.
  • Strong communication and teamwork skills.

Pay and Benefits

The pay range for this position is $20.00 - $33.00/hr.
