Job summary

Remedy Education is looking for an experienced 1:1 Teaching Assistant / Support Worker to support a Year 11 student with SEMH and additional learning needs within an alternative provision. The student requires a calm, consistent and confident adult who can build trust, maintain clear boundaries and support both learning and emotional regulation.

The ideal candidate will have experience supporting secondary pupils with SEMH, build positive relationships while maintaining boundaries, support focus

Qualifications

• Support focus, engagement and learning retention.

Responsibilities

• Provide calm, consistent 1:1 support for a Year 11 student.
• Support learning activities and ensure emotional regulation.
• Help student manage frustration and develop independent learning skills.
• Maintain clear boundaries and build trust with the student.
• Support transitions and maintain a safe learning environment.

The student requires a calm, consistent and confident adult who can build trust, maintain clear boundaries and support both his learning and emotional regulation.

The ideal candidate will:

• Have experience supporting secondary-aged pupils with SEMH
• Build positive relationships while maintaining clear boundaries
• Support focus, understanding and engagement with learning
• Help the student manage frustration, conflict and emotional regulation
• Encourage independence rather than creating reliance on 1:1 support

Experience within alternative provision, PRU, SEMH or specialist settings would be highly beneficial.

This role would suit an experienced SEMH TA, Behaviour Mentor, Learning Mentor or Youth Worker.
