Job summary

Propel Schools is seeking a dedicated Paraprofessional to provide scholars with academic, behavioral, and social-emotional support to access the educational program. The role involves 1:1 and small-group instruction, data collection, and collaboration with certified staff to reinforce learning.

The paraprofessional will assist with IEPs and 504 plans, monitor student progress, and help maintain a safe, inclusive classroom environment across various school settings.

Qualifications

• Associate degree or 48 college credits required or preferred for the role.
• Education-related field of study or relevant work experience is expected.
• Ability to work collaboratively in an urban education environment.
• Strong organizational skills and high-energy attitude are important.
• Ability to maintain confidentiality and follow school procedures.
• Willingness to participate in ongoing professional development and Propel principles.

Responsibilities

• Provide instructional support in small groups or 1:1 under a certified teacher.
• Support scholars with academic, behavioral, social-emotional, and functional needs.
• Assist in implementing IEPs, 504 plans, and behavior support plans.
• Document student progress and communicate relevant data to teachers.
• Help scholars participate in classroom and school activities and transitions.
• Prepare instructional materials and maintain organized learning environments.
• Support with daily personal tasks and mobility as trained.
• Participate in required meetings and professional development.
