Job summary

Ball Ground Elementary School in Ball Ground, GA is seeking a 1:1 paraprofessional to support instructional activities and student needs under the School Leadership and Operations division.

The role involves assisting in various classroom settings, following plans, and providing supervision and data collection to help students progress. Requirements include an associate or bachelor's degree or passing GACE assessments; certification per PSC guidelines; and direct support responsibilities.

Qualifications

• Education level must be in accordance with federal, state and local guidelines; certification as mandated by the Professional Standards Commission.
• Demonstrates ability to follow plans or accommodations as required by the IEP, behavior plan, healthcare plan, etc.

Responsibilities

• Use instructional strategies prescribed by personnel to support learning.
• Provide support to selected students in resource, self-contained and/or regular classroom settings.
• Assist and adhere to all elements of plans or accommodations as required by IEP/behavior/health plans.
• Perform duties to meet the unique needs of specific student populations, including mobility and safety tasks.
• Assist students/teachers in using hardware, software, and other technology including assistive technology.
• Provide feedback on student performance to appropriate personnel.
• Conduct small group or individual activities based on lesson plans.
• Assist with student assessment, grading, and data collection.
• Assist with routine recordkeeping and preparing instructional materials.
• Locate, operate and return needed equipment; assist with classroom housekeeping.
• Assist in ordering and inventory of classroom equipment and materials.
• supervise students including bus monitoring and school-wide supervision.

Education

Associate or Bachelor’s Degree, or passing of the GACE Ethics Assessment and GACE Paraprofessional Assessment required.
