Job summary

DeKalb County School District is seeking a Paraprofessional 1:1 to assist in Special Education classrooms at Druid Hills High School. You will support students with IEPs, provide small group and one-on-one instruction, and help with health-related care under supervision of a licensed teacher.

The role requires a high school diploma or GED, and either a GACE Paraprofessional Assessment, an associate degree or higher, or 60–90 college hours with a valid paraprofessional certificate.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or GED and pass the GACE Paraprofessional Assessment.
• Associate degree or higher from a Georgia PCS-approved college or university.
• Minimum of sixty (60) semester hours or ninety (90) quarter hours with a GPA of 2.0+ from a PCS-approved college/university.
• Valid PCS-approved paraprofessional certificate.

Responsibilities

• Assist students with physical and personal care needs as outlined in the IEP under supervision of a certified teacher.
• Provide small group and one-on-one instructional support following lesson plans.
• Monitor students before/after school and during transitions; support classroom management.
• Assist with health-related care and medications as trained and authorized.
• Maintain confidentiality of student records per FERPA and district policies.
• Assist with progress monitoring and data collection.
• Contribute to development and organization of instructional materials for students.
