Job summary

Putnam City Western Oaks Elementary in Bethany, OK is seeking a 1:1 Special Education Paraprofessional II to support students with disabilities under the supervision of a Special Education Teacher and/or Principal. The role focuses on implementing IEP accommodations, assisting with daily tasks, behavior support, data collection, and collaboration with staff to promote inclusive learning environments.

This is a full-time 180-day or nine-month position with salary to be established by the Board.

Qualifications

• Requires High School Diploma or GED and must obtain a Special Education Paraprofessional Tier II certificate as per OSDE.
• Ability to provide one-on-one or small group support to students with disabilities and assist with daily tasks as needed.
• Will implement accommodations and modifications as outlined in IEPs and assist with behavior management.

Responsibilities

• Provide one-on-one or small group assistance to students with disabilities.
• Implement accommodations and modifications per IEPs.
• Assist with daily tasks and transitions, personal care, and mobility when necessary.
• Support with toileting needs while maintaining student dignity and hygiene.
• Collaborate with teachers and staff to monitor progress and needs.
• Prepare instructional materials and assist with classroom setup.
• Support behavior management and positive reinforcement strategies.
• Supervise students during non-instructional times (lunch, recess, transports) and assist with specialized programs as directed.
• Maintain records of student progress and report concerns to teachers.
• Participate in training and professional development to improve student outcomes.
