Qualifications

• High School Diploma or GED is required.
• Special Education Paraprofessional Tier II certificate (OSDE) required or to be obtained per OSDE requirements.
• Ability to work effectively with students with disabilities and diverse backgrounds.

Responsibilities

• Provide one-on-one or small group assistance to students with disabilities, helping them understand and complete assignments.
• Implement accommodations and modifications as outlined in students' IEPs.
• Assist with daily tasks, transitions, personal care, and mobility; assist with toileting needs as required.
• Communicate regularly with teachers, special education staff, and school personnel about student progress.
• Support classroom teacher with materials, activities, and setup; modify lessons as needed.
• Monitor progress and reinforce lessons and skills taught in class.
• Supervise students during non-instructional times (lunch, recess, arrival/departure, field trips, buses).
• Provide support during physical or speech therapy as directed by professionals.
