Job summary

Salem Public Schools in Salem, MA, is seeking an Intensive Instructional Paraprofessional (1:1) at Collins Middle School for SY2025-2026. The role supports students with disabilities under supervision of certified staff and involves personal care and technology support as needed.

Applicants should have a high school diploma, 48 college credits or an associate degree (or ParaPro/WorkKeys), and be willing to engage in ongoing PD. Bilingual candidates are strongly encouraged for this urban district.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma or GED is required.
• 48 college credits or an Associate’s degree, or passing ParaPro/WorkKeys.
• Safety-Care Trained or willing to be trained (district will provide training).
• Minimum of one year experience working with elementary-aged children.

Responsibilities

• Demonstrate understanding of assigned students’ profiles and learning needs; read IEPs and engage in related PD.
• Support and collaborate with general and special education teachers.
• Reinforce lessons with individuals or small groups of students.
• Assist with classroom management and supervision.
• Administer behavior modification programs and data collection under teacher direction.
• Assist with accommodations and strategies for instruction and skill reinforcement.
• Cover classroom during teacher absence.
