Job summary

The Camas School District is seeking a dedicated instructional paraeducator to provide 1:1 and small group support in self-contained or specialized programs. You will assist in implementing IEPs, preparing instructional materials, and supporting students to access regular and special education services.

Responsibilities include maintaining records, monitoring progress, implementing behavioral and safety plans, and assisting with classroom adaptations.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent and required credits or degree.
• Completion of state paraprofessional training requirements.
• Experience with special needs students in education.
• Academic proficiency matching assigned grade/subject area.
• Basic knowledge of sign language preferred.
• MS Office skills and data entry ability.
• First aid/CPR certification.
• Training in safe use of physical restraints.

Responsibilities

• Implement specialized/adaptive procedures and curriculum materials as instructed.
• Prepare materials for students.
• Implement IEPs as designated.
• Provide for students' physical needs (e.g., assist, lift, diapering).
• Maintain records as instructed.
• Collect and report student data; provide progress reports.
• Support and implement behavioral plans.
• Assist with adapting classroom materials.
• Facilitate independent work, social and self-help skills.
• Provide first aid to students as needed.
• Provide physical restraint as needed.
• Other related duties to support student success.
