Job summary

Federal Way Public Schools seeks a paraeducator to provide direct 1:1 support to a special needs student under the supervision of a licensed teacher. You will assist with instructional tasks, data collection, and implementing IEP goals to promote independence.

You will help with daily living skills, transitions, and safety within the classroom while collaborating with staff and following district procedures. A high school diploma or equivalent and additional qualifications are required.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma or Equivalent required.
• AA degree or college credits or paraeducator assessment as alternate paths.
• Proficient in basic spelling, math and grammar.

Responsibilities

• Assist in 1:1 instruction and daily instruction under supervision.
• Support development and evaluation of IEP goals and objectives.
• Plan daily/weekly lessons aligned to IEP goals.
• Collect and analyze data to modify programs.
• Support with behavior plans and safety within routines.
• Assist with daily living skills and transitions between activities.
