Job summary

The 1 on 1 CI Special Education Paraprofessional at Frederick V. Pankow Center provides direct support to individual students and assists the classroom teacher with learning materials and instructional exercises.

Requirements include two years of college credit or an associate degree or state test; strong written and verbal communication; and experience working with students. The position is full-time with a salary of $17.89 per hour. Deadline: October 5, 2026.

Qualifications

• Two years of college credit, an associate's degree or passage of a State approved test required.
• Michigan teaching certificate preferred.
• Ability to assist the classroom instructor with the development and presentation of learning materials and instructional exercises.
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
• Ability to communicate and work with individual classroom instructors.
• Experience working with students.
• Ability to assist academically at-risk students in a classroom setting and in a tutoring context.
• Alternatives to the above qualifications may be acceptable as per the Board of Education.
