Job summary

Montgomery County Intermediate Unit 23 is seeking Special Education Paraprofessionals to support K-12 students across Autistic Support, Emotional Support, Life Skills, and other classrooms. These full-time roles provide classroom and 1:1 support within the Office of Student Services, for the 2026-2027 school year.

Starting hourly wages range from $21.27 to $23.35, with an additional $1.00/hour stipend for valid PA Teaching Certification.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma or GED required; willing to obtain PA Paraeducator Credential within one year.
• Associates degree or higher or 48 college credits; Bachelor's preferred.
• Background in special education/RBT preferred.
• Experience with student data and direct-instruction programs; familiarity with online learning systems.
• Ability to handle confidential information and work with students with disabilities.
• Must meet CPI/Safety Cares training.
• Able to work independently and as part of a team; good judgment.

Responsibilities

• Utilize direct-instruction programs and online learning systems.
• Take teacher direction and support student behavior per plans.
• Communicate with students, professionals, parents, and staff.
• Assist teacher with lesson preparation and materials; record keeping.
• Data collection and behavior data entry.
• Provide 1:1 classroom support as assigned.
• Present a positive image of the Intermediate Unit.
