Job summary

Seattle Public Schools is seeking a 1-on-1 Special Education Instructional Assistant for a male 1st Grade student in the Extended Resource pathway. The role collaborates with the classroom teacher and case manager to support IEP goals and student engagement.

Essential duties include adapting activities, monitoring progress, providing behavior support, and attending IEP meetings. The position requires strong teamwork and communication with diverse stakeholders.

Qualifications

• Qualifying score on Education Testing Service paraeducator assessment (or equivalent).
• Associate degree or higher from an accredited institution; or 72 quarter credits or 48 semester credits at entry level; or apprenticeship with a registered program.

Responsibilities

• Assist in starting and maintaining student tasks and on-task behavior.
• Support transitions between activities and provide minor academic help.
• Administer basic materials and track student progress under supervision.
• Assist with behavioral plans and safety in various school settings.
• Collaborate with teachers, case managers, and families as needed.
