Job summary

Westfield Public Schools in Westfield, MA is seeking a 1:1 Special Education Paraprofessional for Westfield River Elementary School to support students with individualized goals. Immediate start; full-time position with duties including assisting with daily routines, behavior support, and small-group instruction under the supervision of a teacher.

Qualifications include an Associate degree or 48 credits, or passing ParaPro/WorkKeys. Citizenship/residency or work visa may be required.

Qualifications

Demonstrated interest in children and education.
Emotional maturity and stability for specialized work.
Ability to communicate and work with staff and students.

Responsibilities

Assist students individually or in small groups with tasks and routines.
Reinforce learning objectives as directed by the teacher.
Support classroom strategies tailored to individual needs.
Maintain supportive relationships with students without over-connecting.
Assist with supervision during drills, assemblies, field trips, lunch, and transitions.
Support playground, lavatories, cafeteria, and bus routines.
Participate in in-service training and other duties as assigned.
