Job summary

Qualifications

• Possession of Associates degree or higher; or 48 credit hours from higher education institution; or passage of the ParaPro or Work Keys assessment.
• Demonstrated interest in children and education.
• Emotional maturity and stability for this specialized work.

Responsibilities

• Assist assigned student(s) with physical tasks (dressing, moving, toileting, feeding).
• Work with individuals or small groups to reinforce learning.
• Assist in devising strategies tailored to each student’s needs and abilities.
• Establish supportive relationships while avoiding over-emotional involvement.
• Supervise students during drills, assemblies, play periods, and field trips.
• Assist with playground, lavatories, cafeteria, and bus loading duties.
• Assist with lunch, snack, and clean-up routines.
• Participate in in-service training programs.
• Other duties as assigned by supervisory staff.
