Tacoma Public Schools is seeking a dedicated paraeducator to provide one-on-one assistance to a 9th grade student with a disability during the school day. You will support a certificated teacher with instructional and day-to-day activities, ensuring safety and engagement in all school activities.

The role requires completion of the General Paraeducator Certificate and participation in district training. The school offers the full range of benefits and a structured 183-workday schedule.

Qualifications

• Requires General Paraeducator Certificate and 28 hours of district training.
• First two days of FCS training must be completed within four months of hire; second two days within six months.
• General certificate earned after ten days (70 clock hours) of professional development training.

Responsabilités

• Provides one-on-one instruction to a student or small groups as directed by the teacher.
• Assists with self-care activities and basic first aid as trained.
• Supervises during recess, lunch, and bus/loading activities as needed.
• Documents student progress and communicates with teachers and parents as assigned.
• Assists in adapting materials and supporting students with disabilities as directed.
