Job summary

Lower Dauphin School District is seeking a Special Education Paraprofessional-1:1 to support a student or students in the classroom. The paraprofessional will assist the teacher in maintaining a positive learning environment, provide instructional and behavioral support, and help with health care needs as required.

The role requires interaction with children, adherence to confidentiality, and the ability to work under supervision of a case manager and building administrator.

Qualifications

• High school diploma required.
• Experience interacting with children preferred.
• Must obtain Act 34, Act 114, and Act 151 clearances.

Responsibilities

• Assist classroom teacher in maintaining positive behaviors and classroom environment.
• Support instructional activities and collect data on student progress.
• Assist with health care needs, bathroom and mealtime support, and transitions between activities.
• Maintain confidentiality of student information and follow district policies.
