Job summary

The position follows the PSE Salary Schedule Level 5 at $25.40 per hour and requires completing the Fundamental Course of Studies (FCS), General Paraeducator Certificate, Right Response Training, and state-mandated qualifications within specified timelines.

Qualifications

• Demonstrated skill in reading, writing and communicating.
• Ability to follow and give instructions.
• Ability to establish and maintain effective working relationships with students and staff.

Responsibilities

• Instructs students individually or in small groups to promote understanding of materials.
• Communicates student progress with certificated staff and adjusts teaching approaches as needed.
• Maintains records, progress logs and assessments for student progress.
• Assists students with personal hygiene and safety needs; monitors for medical risks.
• Provides physical assistance and uses adaptive equipment as directed by therapists.
