Job summary

The Bethel School District 403 is seeking a dedicated Paraeducator - Mainstream Special Education to assist certificated staff with instructional and non-instructional activities for students with disabilities. Eligibility requires a high school diploma or equivalent and completion of required state paraeducator training; compensation is based on the PSE Salary Schedule Level

Qualifications

• Requires high school diploma or equivalent.
• Completion of FCS and State Paraeducator Certificate Program is required or funded by state.
• Knowledge of basic subject areas and ability to support instruction.

Responsibilities

• Assist certificated staff with instructional and non-instructional activities for mainstream special education students.
• Instruct students individually or in small groups; monitor progress and behavior.
• Maintain records, logs and progress documentation; assist with scoring or grading as directed.
• Supervise students in classrooms, on playgrounds, during meals, and on field trips.
• Support students with interpersonal skills and safety rules; communicate with staff and parents.
