Job summary

Lancaster-Lebanon IU13 is seeking a Personal Care Assistant / 1:1 Paraeducator to provide instructional, behavioral and personal care support per the student’s IEP. The position reports to the classroom teacher and the program supervisor.

The assignment runs for the school year and may end early based on student placement needs. Minimum requirements include a High School Diploma or GED and a qualifying credential or credits, with mandatory annual staff development hours.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma or GED is required.
• PA Paraeducator Credential or 48 post-secondary credits or an associate degree or higher are acceptable options.
• Willing to complete 20 hours of staff development each school year and provide evidence.
• Physical ability to lift and assist students; CPI/SCM/QBS training will be provided.

Responsibilities

• Provide instructional support as outlined in the student’s IEP.
• Assist with behavioral and personal care needs under supervision of the teacher.
• Support classroom activities 1:1 and as assigned by the program supervisor.
