Job summary

Interim Healthcare in Hazelton, PA seeks a School Based LPN to provide 1:1 nursing support in the classroom setting. You will administer medications, monitor health needs, and collaborate with teachers to implement IHPS and IEPs.

Qualified applicants must hold a Pennsylvania nursing license, CPR certification, a valid driver's license, and at least one year of related experience. Flexible scheduling and weekly pay are offered.

Responsibilities

• Provide direct medical care: administer medications and health procedures, respond to emergencies.
• Develop and implement individualized health care plans (IHPS) and emergency action plans (IEPs).
• Monitor students' physical and emotional health, especially with disabilities or chronic conditions.
• Educate students on health, hygiene, and self-care appropriate to development.
• Support IEP meetings with health input for educational planning.
• Promote a safe, accessible classroom and train staff on health protocols.

Essential Functions for the School Based LPN Licensed Practical Nurse:

• Provide Direct Medical Care: Administer Medications, Perform Health Procedures, and Respond to Medical Emergencies for Students with Chronic or Acute Health Needs.
• Develop and Implement Health Plans: Create and Maintain Individualized Health Care Plans (IHPS) and Emergency Action Plans (IEPs) in Collaboration with Educators and Families.
• Monitor Student Health Needs: Track and Assess Students' Physical and Emotional Health, Especially Those with Disabilities or Special Medical Conditions.
• Educate on Health and Hygiene: Teach Students Basic Hygiene, Self-care, and Life Skills Related to Health, Tailored to Developmental and Cognitive Levels.
• Support Special Education Teams: Participate in IEP(Individualized Education Program) Meetings and Provide Health-related Input for Students' Educational Planning.
• Promote a Safe and Inclusive Environment: Ensure the Classroom Is Safe and Accessible, Train Staff on Health Protocols, and Advocate for Students’ Health-related Needs.

Minimum Requirements for the School Based LPN Licensed Practical Nurse:

• Current Nursing License in the State of Pa
• Minimum One (1) Year Relative Experience; Required
• Cpr Certification
• Valid Driver's License
• Willing to Undergo Pre-employment Screenings
