Interim HealthCare of Augusta is seeking an LPN licensed practical nurse to support students in Luzerne County classrooms and district settings.

This role covers local school districts, with responsibilities including administering medications, implementing IHCPs and IEPs, monitoring student health, and collaborating with educators and families.

Qualifications

• Current Nursing License in the State of PA.
• Minimum One (1) Year Relative Experience; Required.
• CPR Certification.
• Valid Driver's License.
• Willing to Undergo Pre-employment Screenings.

Responsibilities

• Provide Direct Medical Care: Administer Medications and Respond to Medical Emergencies for Students.
• Develop and Implement Health Plans: Create IHPS and IEPs with Educators and Families.
• Monitor Student Health Needs: Track Physical and Emotional Health, especially for students with disabilities.
• Educate on Health and Hygiene: Teach Hygiene and self-care appropriate to development.
• Support Special Education Teams: Participate in IEP meetings and provide health input.
• Promote a Safe and Inclusive Environment: Train staff on health protocols and advocate for student health needs.

Covering Needs in Local School Districts Throughout Luzerne County

• Specialties; Trach/Vent, Feeding Tubes, Diabetes, Seizures, Catheters, Incontinence, Etc.
• Salary up to $32 per Hour
• Hours M-f Days
  • Follows District Schedule; Work Offer over Summer Months Through Local Summer Camps, Nursing Homes, and Smaller Jobs.

Essential Functions for the LPNLicensed Practical Nurse:

• Provide Direct Medical Care: Administer Medications, Perform Health Procedures, and Respond to Medical Emergencies for Students with Chronic or Acute Health Needs.
• Develop and Implement Health Plans: Create and Maintain Individualized Health Care Plans (IHPS) and Emergency Action Plans (IEPs) in Collaboration with Educators and Families.
• Monitor Student Health Needs: Track and Assess Students' Physical and Emotional Health, Especially Those with Disabilities or Special Medical Conditions.
• Educate on Health and Hygiene: Teach Students Basic Hygiene, Self-care, and Life Skills Related to Health, Tailored to Developmental and Cognitive Levels.
• Support Special Education Teams: Participate in IEP(Individualized Education Program) Meetings and Provide Health-related Input for Students’ Educational Planning.
• Promote a Safe and Inclusive Environment: Ensure the Classroom Is Safe and Accessible, Train Staff on Health Protocols, and Advocate for Students’ Health-related Needs.
