Job summary

Kingman Regional Medical Center is seeking a Continuous Observer to provide close patient monitoring under RN supervision. The role includes in-room observation, basic comfort services, and safeguarding a safe environment while documenting patient status and actions.

Qualifications include being at least 18 years old and holding Basic Life Support certification. Strong communication, compassion, and the ability to work with diverse patients are essential.

Qualifications

• Must be at least 18 years old.
• Certification: Basic Life Support through the American Red Cross or American Heart Association.
• Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities: follow directions, verbal skills, hearing and manual dexterity; ability to work with diverse populations with compassion.

Responsibilities

• Under the direction of a registered nurse (RN), provide continuous visual and proximal contact with the patient, including in-room observation, basic comfort services, safety monitoring, proceeding with tests/procedures, and documentation on appropriate forms.
• Provide one-on-one observation for patients at risk of self-harm or injury, respond promptly to patient needs, assist with feeding and mobility, and maintain patient privacy and dignity.
• Maintain a safe, therapeutic environment, notify staff of changes in patient status, stay with the patient during emergencies, and ensure timely documentation of patient behaviors and actions.
