Job summary

East Elementary School in Sharon, Massachusetts is seeking a 1:1 instructional assistant to support an elementary student throughout the school day. The successful candidate will have strong written and oral language skills, and experience with students with disabilities is preferred. This position follows the Sharon Public Schools calendar.

Work day 8:45am-3:15pm. Qualifications: minimum high school diploma; two years post-high school education (Associate or Bachelor’s degree preferred);

Qualifications

• Minimum high school diploma, (two years post-high school education, Associate or Bachelor’s degree preferred)
• At least 2 year(s) of relevant experience preferred
• Citizenship, residency or work visa required

Responsibilities

• Assist teachers in providing a nurturing, supportive and collaborative environment
• Work with students individually or in small groups addressing IEP goals
• Support classroom routines and maintain confidentiality
• Assist in implementing school-wide goals for a safe environment
• Attend Professional Development as assigned
• Assist substitutes and accompany students to transition vehicles
