Job summary

Sharon Public Schools in Sharon, MA seeks an Instructional Assistant Specialized Program to support students with IEP goals in collaboration with lead teachers and special education staff.

You will assist with individual and small-group instruction, implement accommodations, and help maintain a nurturing, inclusive classroom environment that supports diverse learners and their success.

Qualifications

• Minimum high school diploma; two years post-high school education preferred.
• Experience or familiarity with IEPs and individualized student supports.
• Ability to work with diverse learners and implement accommodations.

Responsibilities

• Maintain confidentiality of students and families.
• Familiarize with student IEP and support goals and benchmarks.
• Assist with individual or small group instruction aligned to goals.
• Model positive behavior and reinforce social interaction programs.
• Provide behavioral support and accommodations under supervision.
• Report issues to classroom or special education staff as applicable.
• Assist with accommodations/modifications to lessons; support transitions.
• Attend professional development and accompany students to/from school as needed.
• Modify materials for inclusion opportunities and maintain student notebooks.
• Collect data on targeted skills and track progress as directed.
