Job summary

Sarasota County Schools seeks an ESE Teacher Aide 1:1 at Gulf Gate Elementary to provide specialized instructional support and supervision for students with disabilities. The role requires CPI training, ASD certification by end of probation, and completion of Para Pro or AA/AS degree as applicable.

Strong communication and independence are essential. Location: Gulf Gate Elementary; hours 7.5 per day; contract status with district-wide salary schedule.

Qualifications

• High School diploma or equivalent.
• Passing score on Para Pro Assessment Test or an AA/AS degree.
• Must successfully complete verbal and physical CPI training within probationary period.
• May be required to register and complete forty (40) hours of autism-related training/workshops to obtain ASD certification by end of probation.
• Ability to implement academic and behavioral interventions for ESE students.

Responsibilities

• Assist in supervising students and school-wide tasks.
• Participate in required workshops and training sessions.
• Assist with personal care and hygiene tasks as needed.
• Perform clerical duties such as copying, filing, recording and data collection.
• Help maintain a safe learning and work environment.
• Implement individualized classroom activities as directed.
• Assist with behavioral management and with development of instructional materials.
• Prepare accurate records and reports and assess student progress.
• Communicate effectively with staff and parents.
• Follow district policies and maintain confidentiality.
