Job summary

PSD is seeking a caring 1:1 Aide to support a first-grade student in our elementary program. The role emphasizes ASL communication, individualized instruction, and collaboration with teachers to ensure full access to the curriculum.

The position is full-time, FLSA-non-exempt, a 10-month union role, with responsibilities including personal care, language development in ASL, and data-driven progress monitoring for student success.

Qualifications

• ASL proficiency Level 2+ or higher is required.
• Experience in an educational setting preferred.
• Meet PSD's Credential of Competency of Paraeducator within three years from date of hire.

Responsibilities

• Provide one-on-one academic or language support based on IEPs.
• Develop and prepare instructional materials.
• Provide personal care and life skills support as outlined in IEPs.
• Support classroom routines and transitions.
• Document student progress and data toward goals.
• Collaborate with teachers and related service providers.
• Complete 20 hours of professional development annually.
• Model PSD's core values: Students 1st, Language, Respect, Communication, Community Engagement.
