Southside School District is seeking a compassionate Educational Assistant to provide 1:1 support for an elementary student with autism, aligned to the student’s IEP. Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent.
• Meets Washington paraeducator requirements.
• Ability to work with elementary students with diverse needs.
• Strong communication and organizational skills.
• Patience, reliability, flexibility, and professionalism.
• Ability to follow written and verbal directions and apply IEP plans.

Responsibilities

• Provide direct, individualized 1:1 support per IEP throughout the school day.
• Assist with classroom instruction, routines, and transitions to promote participation.
• Support the student in developing independence and self-advocacy skills.
• Adapt assistance to promote success while avoiding over-dependence on adults.
• Maintain predictable routines and structured learning environments.
• Reinforce instruction and assist with tasks, organization, and engagement.
• Implement accommodations and strategies identified by staff.
• Document progress and communicate observations to the team; ensure safety.
