Job summary

Community Connections Inc. is seeking 1:1 Developmental Specialists to join our Day Center team in Fairhaven, MA. You will support individuals with disabilities on a one-to-one basis, helping with daily activities and community-based experiences.

We offer competitive hourly pay and Blue Cross Blue Shield benefits, plus opportunities for personal and professional development; this is a non-exempt, front-line role with weekends free for you.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma or GED required; relevant experience preferred.
• Able to communicate clearly in writing and verbally with individuals.
• Demonstrated ability to work independently and follow directions.

Responsibilities

• Document individuals' progress toward DHSP objectives.
• Assist individuals physically as necessary.
• Ensure health, safety and well-being of the individual.
• Provide and maintain community-based habilitation/therapeutic experiences.
• Transport the individual as assigned.

Community Connections Inc. is looking for 1:1 Developmental Specialists to join our Day Center team based in Fairhaven, MA. In this role you will support individuals with disabilities by providing direct support on a one to one basis. You will partner with Community Connections in their mission to provide optimal independence and enriching services to people with disabilities. We are looking a 1:1 Developmental Specialist with a commitment to compassion, teamwork and serving the community.

What You'll Do as a 1:1 Developmental Specialists:

• Document individuals' progress towards DHSP objectives
• Assist individuals physically as necessary
• Ensure the health, safety, and general well being of the individual
• Provide and maintain community based habilitation/therapeutic experiences through social, recreational and volunteer opportunities, based on the individual's needs and wishes
• Transport the individual as assigned

What You'll Need as a 1:1 Developmental Specialists:

• High School Diploma or General Education Degree (GED)
• 1+ year's experience and/or training working with individuals with disabilities
• Valid driver's license, and satisfactory driving record
• Acceptable criminal background check required
• Excellent written and verbal communication and interpersonal skills
• Demonstrated ability to work independently
• Strong computer and word processing skills
