Job summary

Community Connections Inc. in Fall River, MA is seeking a 1:1 Developmental Specialist to support individuals with disabilities in a Day Center setting.

This role involves direct, one-to-one support to promote independence and enrichment. You will document progress toward objectives, assist physically when needed, ensure health and safety, provide community-based habilitation through social and recreational activities, and transport individuals as assigned.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma or GED required.
• 1+ year’s experience and/or training working with individuals with disabilities.
• Valid driver’s license and satisfactory driving record.
• Acceptable criminal background check required.
• Excellent written and verbal communication and interpersonal skills.
• Demonstrated ability to work independently.
• Strong computer and word processing skills.

Responsibilities

• Document individuals’ progress towards DHSP objectives.
• Assist individuals physically as necessary.
• Ensure the health, safety, and general well being of the individual.
• Provide and maintain community based habilitation/therapeutic experiences through social, recreational and volunteer opportunities, based on the individual’s needs and wishes.
• Transport the individual as assigned.

In this role you will support individuals with disabilities by providing direct support on a one to one basis. You will partner with Community Connections in their mission to provide optimal independence and enriching services to people with disabilities. We are looking a 1:1 Developmental Specialist with a commitment to compassion, teamwork and serving the community.

What You'll Do as a 1:1 Developmental Specialists:
