Job summary

Northern Rivers Family of Services is seeking a Teacher Aide to support teachers in behavior management and student success in a school setting. You will work on site across various school environments, monitor student behavior, assist with crisis prevention, and help implement behavior plans (BIP).

The role involves supervising students during non-instructional periods, supporting PBIS components, attending trainings, and performing clerical duties.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma required.
• Ability to work with students who demonstrate serious emotional and behavioral challenges (ages 6-21).
• Ability to collaborate with teachers and staff to support student needs.

Responsibilities

• Follow all Agency policies and procedures and state/federal regulations.
• Monitor student behavior and help maintain discipline; record data; assist with crisis prevention and de-escalation.
• Assist with implementing behavior plans (BIP); record data and incident reports.
• Supervise students during non-instructional periods (lunch, breaks, bus loading, playground, field trips, etc.).
• Support PBIS universal components and Tier 2/3 strategies for selected students.
• Attend meetings and professional development to enhance skills (first aid, CPR, etc.).
• Perform clerical duties; maintain records, attendance, and student files; operate classroom equipment.
• Collaborate with parents, doctors, nurses, therapists to address student needs.
• Monitor safety and promote positive behavior and interactions among peers.
• Perform other duties as requested by the teacher and principal.
