Job summary

Dominion Care in Virginia seeks a dedicated 1:1 Behavior Aide to work one-on-one with a student in a classroom setting. You will help with routines, behavior, and social-emotional growth while collaborating with teachers and administrators.

The role emphasizes de-escalation, data collection, and consistent communication to support individualized education plans (IEP) and behavior intervention plans (BIP). A high school diploma or GED is required, with preferred collegiate study in related fields.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or GED required.
• Collegiate level education in behavioral science, special education, human services, or related areas preferred.
• Experience working with at-risk youth or disabilities preferred.

Responsibilities

• Provide constant support and supervision to the student throughout the school day.
• Assist with transitions and adaptations between subjects and classes.
• Support implementation of academic and behavioral goals per IEP/BIP.
• Collect data on behaviors and progress for monthly reports.
• De-escalate and intervene as needed to ensure safety and property protection.
• Coordinate with school personnel and participate in related meetings.
