Job summary

ChanceLight Behavioral Health, Therapy, & Education is seeking a Behavior Specialist to implement school-wide positive behavior support, enhance student outcomes, and support staff with behavior management.

The role emphasizes proactive strategies, crisis response, and collaboration with IEP teams. A strong ABA background and experience with BIPs/FBA are preferred, with opportunities for growth and impact.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent and passing basic skills tests.
• Bachelor's degree or higher in a related field preferred.
• RBT credential preferred or in process.
• Ability to obtain crisis management certification.
• Experience with behavioral instruction in special education/behavioral health.
• Strong ABA knowledge including FBA/PBIS/BIP.

Responsibilities

• Implement targeted interventions to improve academic, social-emotional, and behavioral outcomes.
• Reinforce positive behavior and guide staff in behavior management.
• Maintain detailed SBS and BIP documentation.
• Collect and analyze behavioral data to monitor progress.
• Support classroom staff in monitoring student behaviors and coordinating classroom strategies.
• Apply ABA principles under supervision to improve outcomes.
• Conduct behavioral observations for FBA development and BIP creation.
• Assist with instructional activities and supervision during school days.
• Provide crisis intervention and de-escalation to minimize disruptions to instruction.
