Job summary

Heidelberg Materials is seeking a loader operator to move and load aggregates within a quarry environment. You will operate heavy equipment, perform pre-shift inspections, and maintain a clean, safe work area while following PPE requirements and safety policies.

You will collaborate with truck drivers and plant operators to coordinate loading activities and monitor material quality. This role may include basic maintenance tasks and adherence to safety regulations in varying weather conditions.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent.
• Experience operating heavy equipment, especially front-end loaders, in quarry/construction.
• Valid driver's license with a clean driving record.
• Ability to understand and follow oral and written instructions.
• Strong safety commitment and compliance with regulations.
• Physical ability for strenuous tasks in varying weather.

Job Responsibilities

• Operate front-end loaders and other heavy equipment to load trucks, crushers, and stockpiles with various aggregates (e.g., sand, gravel, crushed stone).
• Perform pre-shift inspections of equipment, including checking fluid levels, tire pressure, and operating controls, and report any malfunctions or maintenance needs.
• Maintain a clean and organized work area around the loader and loading zones.
• Adhere to all company safety policies and procedures, including wearing appropriate personal protective equipment (PPE) and following traffic control plans.
• Communicate effectively with truck drivers, plant operators, and other quarry personnel to coordinate loading activities.
• Monitor material quality and report any inconsistencies or contamination.
• May perform basic maintenance tasks on equipment, such as greasing and cleaning.
