Job summary

Heidelberg Materials North America is seeking an experienced loader operator for quarry environments. You will operate front-end loaders to move materials, perform pre-shift checks, and ensure safe, efficient loading of trucks and crushers.

You will maintain cleanliness around loading zones, follow PPE rules, and coordinate with drivers and plant staff. A valid driver’s license and strong safety focus are required.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent.
• Proven experience operating heavy equipment, particularly front-end loaders, in a quarry or construction environment.
• Valid driver's license with a clean driving record.
• Ability to understand and follow oral and written instructions.
• Strong commitment to safety and adherence to all safety regulations.
• Physical ability to perform strenuous tasks, including climbing, bending, and lifting, in various weather conditions.
• Mechanical aptitude for performing routine equipment checks and minor maintenance.

Responsibilities

• Operate front-end loaders and other heavy equipment to load trucks, crushers, and stockpiles with various aggregates (e.g., sand, gravel, crushed stone).
• Perform pre-shift inspections of equipment, including checking fluid levels, tire pressure, and operating controls, and report any malfunctions or maintenance needs.
• Maintain a clean and organized work area around the loader and loading zones.
• Adhere to all company safety policies and procedures, including wearing appropriate personal protective equipment (PPE) and following traffic control plans.
• Communicate effectively with truck drivers, plant operators, and other quarry personnel to coordinate loading activities.
• Monitor material quality and report any inconsistencies or contamination.
• May perform basic maintenance tasks on equipment, such as greasing and cleaning.
