Job summary

Eaton seeks a Test Engineer to lead FAT activities for MV/HV switchgear and related panels. You will develop FAT scripts, troubleshoot, and apply IEC61850 logic testing while collaborating with Manufacturing and Quality to optimize test workflows.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in electrical engineering, preferably Electric & Electronics.
• New graduate may be trained for Test Engineering role (optional).
• Experience with electrical test equipment and measurement techniques.
• Experience applying statistical concepts to analyze test data.
• Experience working in MV/HV switchgears.
• Fluent in English is a must.
• Interest in digital tools, AI-supported analysis, data visualization, and process automation.

Responsibilities

• Lead Factory Acceptance Test activities with customer.
• Create FAT scripts related to specified project.
• Troubleshoot and test Customer Order Engineering related to MV switchgear, ATS, and other panel functions.
• Program and test protection relay logic controllers with IEC61850 protocol tests.
• Debug and resolve issues during testing.
• Perform root cause analysis on critical equipment failures and provide improvements.
• Provide engineering input for manufacturing with preventive action plans.
• Review HV equipment maintenance programs for safety and reliability.
• Provide input to ensure Eaton standards and material specs are followed.
• Support digitalization of test processes with dashboards and data collection.
• Contribute to AI-supported analysis for test results and troubleshooting.
• Collaborate with Manufacturing, Quality, and Engineering to develop simple automation like Power BI reports, Power Automate flows, Excel trackers.

What You’ll Do

• Lead Factory Acceptance Test activities with customer.
• Creating FAT scripts related with specified project
• Customer Order Engineering based trouble shooting and testing Primary MV switchgear (Xiria), ATS, and other secondary panel functions (Control, metering and protection).
• Protection Relay (ABB, SIEMENS, SCHNEIDER, GE and SEL) logic controllers (EATON PLC’s) Programming and Testing including IEC61850 protocol related logic design and tests
• Debug and resolve issues identified during testing activities
• Perform Root Cause Analysis on all critical equipment failures and provide recommendations for improving product quality
• Providing technical support for the Manufacturing team with preventive action plan
• Perform continuous review of the HV equipment maintenance programs to identify improvements to ensure the HV asset's safe and reliable operation
• Provides engineering input for switchgears to ensure Eaton standards and material specifications are followed.,
• Support digitalization and automation initiatives for test processes, including structured test data collection, reporting dashboards, and reduction of manual reporting activities.
• Contributes to the use of AI-supported tools for analyzing test results, identifying recurring failure patterns, and improving troubleshooting efficiency.
• Collaborate with Manufacturing, Quality, and Engineering teams to develop simple automation solutions such as Power BI reports, Power Automate flows, Excel-based trackers, or similar tools that improve visibility of test performance and open issues or cycle time reduction of both visual and electrical tests.

Qualifications

• Experience applying statistical concepts and methods to analyze test data.
