Job summary

Qualifications

• Minimum 5 years of hands-on Linux System Administration experience.
• Experience with enterprise-scale infrastructure and virtualization environments.
• Knowledge of virtualization platforms (VMware, Proxmox, KVM).
• Familiarity with security policies and backup/disaster recovery concepts.
• Good command of English and ability to work in a hybrid environment.

Responsibilities

• Manage installation, configuration, patching, upgrades, and security of Linux and Windows-based server environments
• Monitor system performance, conduct capacity planning, troubleshoot, and optimize systems
• Administer user access management, identity integration, and security policies
• Plan and maintain backup, DR, and BC planning solutions
• Develop automation using Bash, Python, PowerShell, Perl, Ruby, or Go
• Administer web servers (Apache, Nginx) and databases (MySQL, PostgreSQL, MongoDB)
• Use monitoring tools like Zabbix, ELK, Prometheus, Grafana for health checks
• Deploy and manage virtualization platforms and clusters
• Evaluate and support virtualization technologies including VMware, Proxmox, KVM
• Manage VM lifecycle: provisioning, migration, optimization, decommissioning
• Collaborate with infrastructure, security, cloud, and app teams
• Participate in modernization and virtualization transformation projects

Kastamonu Entegre Headquarters is looking for a “System Support Senior Specialist" in our IT Team. The position is based in Altunizade, İstanbul.

Job Role Details

• Manage installation, configuration, patching, upgrades, and security of Linux and Windows-based server environments
• Monitor system performance, conduct capacity planning, perform troubleshooting, and implement optimization initiatives
• Administer user access management, identity integration, and security policies in line with corporate standards
• Plan, implement, and maintain backup, disaster recovery (DR), and business continuity (BCP) solutions
• Develop automation and operational efficiency solutions using scripting languages such as Bash, Python, PowerShell, Perl, Ruby, or Go
• Perform administration and maintenance activities for web servers (Apache, Nginx) and databases (MySQL, PostgreSQL, MongoDB)
• Utilize monitoring and observability platforms such as Zabbix, ELK, Prometheus, and Grafana to ensure system health and availability
• Deploy, configure, and manage virtualization platforms and clusters in enterprise environments
• Evaluate, implement, and support virtualization technologies including VMware vSphere, Proxmox VE, KVM/QEMU, and other enterprise virtualization solutions
• Manage virtual machine lifecycle operations, including provisioning, migration, optimization, and decommissioning
• Collaborate with infrastructure, security, cloud, and application teams to deliver reliable and scalable IT solutions
• Participate in infrastructure modernization, automation, and virtualization transformation projects

Skills

• Advanced knowledge of Linux operating systems (Ubuntu, CentOS, Debian, RHEL, etc.)
• Proficiency in Linux shell (Bash) scripting
• Hands-on experience with system administration, performance monitoring, and troubleshooting
• Understanding of networking and security protocols (TCP/IP, DNS, VPN, Firewall).
• Professional-level proficiency in English
• Strong problem-solving skills and ability to work in a hybrid environment
• Military service must be completed for male candidates

Preferred Qualifications

• Knowledge of Windows operating systems
• Experience with automation tools and scripting languages (Python, Perl, PowerShell, Ruby, Go)
• Familiarity with containerization and automation technologies (Docker, Kubernetes, Ansible, Terraform)
• Experience with cloud platforms (AWS, Azure, Google Cloud)
• Understanding of CI/CD processes and DevOps practices
• Knowledge of virtualization technologies (VMware, Proxmox, KVM)
• Experience in backup, disaster recovery, and security policy implementation
• Familiarity with compliance standards (ISO 27001, GDPR/KVKK)
• Relevant certifications such as RHCSA, RHCE, LPI, or similar

Experience

• Minimum 5 years of hands-on Linux System Administration experience
• Proven experience managing enterprise-scale infrastructure and virtualization environments
• Experience with at least one enterprise virtualization platform (VMware, Proxmox, KVM, Hyper-V, Nutanix, etc.)
• Strong track record in troubleshooting complex infrastructure issues and maintaining business-critical environments
• Experience working in on-premises, hybrid-cloud, or cloud-native environments is highly desirable
