What you’ll do
System Integration – As system integrator manager you will be responsible for the interface between all Vendors and internal stakeholders ensuring a successful Software release. This includes:
- Collaboration and Coordination of OpenRAN release schedules in conjunction with the OpenRAN vendors to ensure a timely delivery of Major and Minor releases.
- Foster a collaborative ecosystem to streamline communication and problem‑solving across stakeholders.
- Close interaction with Vodafone Package and Release manager throughout the process.
- Governance of the 3rd Party System Integrators End‑to‑end testing (in vendor labs and 3rd Party SI environment) to validate functionality, performance, security and reliability representative of Vodafone deployments.
- Ensuring integration of hardware and software from multiple vendors to form a cohesive OpenRAN package.
- Ensuring interoperability of all OpenRAN elements, including radios, COTS, CaaS and network management systems.
- Interface verification to confirm adherence to open standards.
- Validation of OpenRAN readiness for commercial service, maintaining operational performance and reliability through robust system release management processes.
- Ensure availability of MOPs covering all aspects of the package and its deployable elements (Data Centre, RAN, etc).
- Ensure that releases from vendors are of sufficient quality when GA status is claimed by vendors – managing commercial and contractual milestones associated to GA release.
- Influence and leverage collaborations through our technology, partners and OpenRAN industry forums for Product Integration best practices, Network Services, solutions, Support and E2E testing.
- Leverage automation tools – both internally and externally – for testing, deployment, and monitoring to enhance efficiency and consistency.
- Investigate and champion ideas around Continuous Integration/Continuous Deployment (CI/CD) practices to support ongoing integration and release cycles across vendors.
- Stay updated with the latest industry standards and best practices in OpenRAN, system integration, and release management.
- Future interoperability and compatibility of new OpenRAN components, such as RIC, SMO, etc.
- Drive year‑on‑year cost reduction and process/platform efficiency improvements.
Who you are
Core competencies, knowledge and experience:
- 5+ years of experience in system integration and release management, preferably in telecommunications.
- Strong contract and commercial understanding.
- Knowledge of OpenRAN technologies, standards, and interfaces.
- Proven track record of managing multi‑vendor integration projects and complex release processes.
- Strong understanding of automated testing, deployment tools, and CI/CD practices.
- Excellent problem‑solving skills and the ability to troubleshoot complex integration issues.
- Strong project management skills with the ability to handle multiple complex topics simultaneously.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to work effectively with diverse teams.
Key performance indicators:
- Successful integration of hardware and software from multiple vendors to form a cohesive OpenRAN package.
- Development of End‑to‑End System Integration methodologies.
- Development of robust, scalable systems for lab through to live development.
- Year‑on‑year cost reduction and process/platform efficiency improvements.

No direct reports: none but lead of virtual teams from vendors and other Vodafone teams will be essential to the role.
