Job summary

CATL is seeking a Purchasing Engineer for the Bursa facility to manage end-to-end sourcing of indirect materials and services for the new plant. You will negotiate terms, oversee supplier performance, and collaborate with operations to ensure timely, cost-effective procurement.

The role requires a strong background in procurement, supplier management, and ERP systems, with fluency in English and Turkish. This position offers growth within a global energy technology leader.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree or higher in Business, Supply Chain Management, Engineering, or related field.
• 5+ years of procurement experience in manufacturing, industrial, or MRO sourcing.
• Experience managing local suppliers in Turkey.
• Familiarity with procurement systems and ERP software (e.g., SAP, Ariba).
• Understanding of contract fundamentals and ability to review commercial terms.
• Experience in cost analysis, should-cost estimation, and supplier quote evaluation.
• Excellent negotiation and communication skills in English and Turkish (written and spoken).
• Proficient in Microsoft Office, especially Excel for data analysis.

Responsibilities

• Source, evaluate, and procure indirect materials for daily plant operations.
• Manage procurement for small equipment modifications and facility upgrades.
• Oversee MRO categories to minimize downtime and support operational efficiency.
• Identify, assess, and onboard reliable local suppliers in Turkey.
• Lead negotiations on pricing, terms, and contracts to achieve cost savings.
• Conduct supplier performance reviews and foster long-term partnerships.
• Own end-to-end supplier relationship management; finalize NDAs and terms before engagement.
• Ensure procurement activities comply with company policies and local regulations.
• Maintain records of purchases, contracts, and supplier communications.
• Prepare and process purchase orders, invoices, and delivery documentation.
• Monitor market trends and identify cost-reduction opportunities.
• Collaborate with warehouse and operations to maintain optimal inventory levels.
