Job summary

Siemens is seeking a robotics software engineer to design and implement collision avoidance, motion planning, and trajectory optimization for advanced robotic systems in R&D. You will work across multidisciplinary teams to translate concepts into robust software.

The role requires 5+ years in software for robotics, strong C++ expertise, knowledge of MoveIt/ROS2, real-time systems, and English proficiency. Travel flexibility is expected; remote work is limited to eligible positions.

Qualifications

Minimum 5+ years of professional software development in robotics.
Proven experience with robotics and motion planning algorithms; collision detection and feasibility assessment.
Strong C++ software development, real-time systems, multi-threading, profiling and optimization.
Experience with robotics middleware and motion planning frameworks (MoveIt, OMPL, ROS/ROS 2).
Familiarity with robotics simulation and digital validation environments (Gazebo, MuJoCo, Isaac Sim).
Excellent English communication and collaboration across disciplines.

Responsibilities

Design and develop collision detection and avoidance for robotic motion planning.
Develop redundancy resolution, trajectory generation, and optimization algorithms.
Evaluate trajectory smoothness, feasibility, and reliability.
Define kinematic solution strategies and motion execution options.
Collaborate with multidisciplinary teams and contribute to Agile processes.
