Job summary

Nicholas O’Dwyer Ltd. seeks Senior Resident Engineers to lead on-site supervision and contract administration for the Gaziantep wastewater project in Türkiye.

You will act as the client’s representative, ensure compliance with technical specifications, safety rules and FIDIC terms, and coordinate with contractors. The role requires strong leadership, reporting, and communication skills, mentoring junior staff, and delivering quality outcomes in a multi-cultural, multi-disciplinary site team.

Qualifications

• A 3rd level degree in Civil, Mechanical, or Environmental Engineering is required.
• 8+ years of professional experience; 3+ years in construction supervision of large water/wastewater projects.
• Familiar with FIDIC contract conditions and EU PRAG procedures.
• Experience in EU or international funded projects.
• Strong leadership, reporting and communication in a multi-disciplinary site team.
• Experience with contractors and public agencies on IFI-funded projects.

Project Overview

Nicholas O’Dwyer is providing Technical Assistance and Supervision services for a key water and wastewater infrastructure projects across the Gaziantep, Adıyaman, and Kilis provinces in Turkey. The programme includes the design, construction supervision, and operational planning of drinking water and wastewater treatment plants, pumping stations, and network rehabilitation. The work places a strong emphasis on sustainability, institutional capacity building, and resilience.

About The Role

Nicholas O'Dwyer is seeking a number of Senior Resident Engineers to lead site supervision and contract administration for the Kizilhisar Wastewater Treatment Plant (WWTP) construction project in Gaziantep, Türkiye. This role will act as the client’s representative on-site, ensuring compliance with technical specifications, safety regulations, and FIDIC contract conditions, while liaising with contractors and the client.

Main Duties And Responsibilities

• As a Senior Resident Engineer, working in collaboration as part of a larger team is essential for this role.
• Will hold overall responsibility for on-site supervision, contractor coordination, and contract management.
• Take ownership and lead daily site inspections, quality control, progress tracking, and issue resolution.
• Responsible for chairing progress meetings, issuing instructions, and ensuring safety protocols are maintained.
• Support with technical reporting, approval of materials, and measurement of works for interim and final payments.
• Responsibility to maintain regular updates and communicate site progress, both internally and externally with the client.
• Responsible for supporting and guiding assistant resident engineers, inspectors, and administrative staff on site.
• Maintaining a culture of continuous improvements across all aspects of the working environment and projects.
• To ensure maximum flexibility and to reflect the Company's evolving needs, additional tasks and responsibilities will form part of this role as it evolves.

Knowledge, Skills And Experience Required

• A 3rd level degree in Civil, Mechanical, or Environmental Engineering is required.
• Minimum of 8 years' professional experience and minimum of 3 years in construction supervision of large-scale water or wastewater infrastructure projects.
• Extensive familiarity with FIDIC contract conditions and EU PRAG procedures.
• Experience in EU or other international funded projects.
• Strong leadership, reporting, and communication skills in a multi-disciplinary, multicultural site environment.
• Experience working with contractors and public agencies on IFI-funded infrastructure projects.
• Proven ability and interest to manage and mentor large site supervision teams.
• Competent in office packages, Microsoft, excel PowerPoint etc.
• Good time management skills, with the ability to prioritise work and manage many tasks concurrently.
• Excellent clear and concise communication skills and the ability to work as part of a multi-disciplinary and multi-cultural team.
