Job summary

EDGE Microwave in Türkiye is seeking a Senior Hardware Design Engineer to lead the hardware development of RF, microwave and high-speed electronics from concept to production. You will own designs, drive prototyping, testing and qualification in a multidisciplinary team and interact with partners worldwide.

The role requires a BS/MS in Electrical/Communications engineering, 5+ years in hardware design, strong signal integrity know-how, experience with Altium, EMC/EMI practices and hands-on lab

Qualifications

  • BS or MS degree in Electrical Engineering, Electronics Engineering, Communication Engineering or a related discipline.
  • 5+ years of professional experience in hardware design, development and testing.
  • Strong understanding of analog, digital and mixed-signal circuit design principles.
  • Experience in RF, microwave and/or high-speed multi-gigabit circuits, with a good understanding of signal integrity.
  • Proven experience with Altium Designer for schematic capture, PCB layout and hardware design.
  • Experience with power distribution and analog/digital circuit design.
  • Hands-on experience with professional PCB design tools.
  • Experience with high-density FPGA and/or SoC-based hardware design methodologies.
  • Knowledge of EMI/RFI protection and mitigation techniques and EMC design principles.
  • Experience with environmental qualification tests and relevant standards.
  • Strong hands-on experience with hardware laboratory equipment, including oscilloscopes, power supplies/electronic loads and spectrum analyzers.
  • Experience taking hardware designs from prototyping through production.
  • Ability to work effectively in a multidisciplinary engineering environment and take ownership of technical tasks.
  • Technical level proficiency in written and spoken English.

Responsibilities

  • Design, develop, integrate, test and document high-speed analog, digital, mixed-signal and RF/MW hardware circuits and systems.
  • Take technical ownership of hardware development activities from concept and architecture through prototyping, verification and production.
  • Participate in requirements analysis and assess design feasibility considering technical, cost, schedule, power, size, weight and EMC constraints.
  • Define hardware architectures, system specifications, interfaces and design approaches in collaboration with multidisciplinary engineering teams.
  • Design schematics and PCB layouts for RF, microwave, high-speed and mixed-signal circuits, with a strong focus on signal integrity and overall hardware performance.
  • Develop and implement power distribution, analog, digital and high-speed circuitry, including high-density FPGA/SoC-based designs.
  • Perform hardware bring-up, debugging, troubleshooting and verification, identifying root causes and implementing effective solutions.
  • Plan and conduct hardware validation and qualification activities, including environmental and EMC/EMI testing where applicable.
  • Use laboratory equipment such as oscilloscopes, power supplies, electronic loads, spectrum analyzers, signal generators and vector network analyzers for hardware characterization and troubleshooting.
  • Work closely with manufacturing and other engineering disciplines to ensure designs are suitable for prototyping, qualification and mass production.
  • Prepare and maintain technical documentation, including design documents, schematics, test procedures, test reports, manufacturing documentation and relevant product documentation.
  • Identify opportunities for design optimization, performance improvement, cost reduction and increased reliability.
  • Clearly communicate technical concepts, design decisions, risks and solutions to both technical and non-technical stakeholders.
  • Participate in field testing, system integration and validation activities, and be flexible to travel when required.

We are looking for a Senior Hardware Design Engineer to take a key role in multidisciplinary R&D projects involving advanced RF, microwave and high-speed electronic technologies for leading aerospace platforms in Türkiye and around the world.

This is a hands‑on engineering role for a highly motivated professional who is comfortable taking technical ownership, solving complex hardware challenges and driving designs from concept through prototyping, testing and production.

The Ideal Fit
  • BS or MS degree in Electrical Engineering, Electronics Engineering, Communication Engineering or a related discipline.
  • 5+ years of professional experience in hardware design, development and testing.

Additional Skills and Experience
  • Strong understanding of RF, microwave and millimeter‑wave systems, transmission line theory, antenna theory and related technologies and components.
  • Understanding of the complete “Bits to Waves” signal chain, including digital/analog modulation schemes, active RF/MW components and link budgets.
  • Experience in defense, aerospace, avionics and/or space projects.
  • Knowledge of RF/MW hardware manufacturing technologies and associated design limitations.
  • Experience with RF/MW measurement and characterization techniques using equipment such as vector network analyzers, spectrum analyzers and RF signal generators.
  • Experience with 2.5D and/or 3D electromagnetic simulation tools.
  • Experience with EMC/EMI testing and troubleshooting.
  • Experience working with high‑reliability or high‑performance electronic systems.
  • Familiarity with hardware development standards and practices used in defense and aerospace applications.
About the Role
